Pat finds something in the forest

Last Saturday, Mary and her brother, Nick, ………rode……… to the forest with their dog, Pat. They took Pat’s favourite ball with them. The children sat down by the river there and gave the ducks some bread. Then Mary the ball to Pat, but he didn’t catch it and it went behind some trees. Pat ran to get it but he came back with something different in his mouth. It was a woman’s ! Mary opened it carefully and then inside. She found a woman’s name and phone number. When they went , the children phoned the woman, then walked to her house.

‘Thank you!’ she said. ‘I lost this last week!’ She gave Mary and Nick some to eat and some lemonade to drink. And Pat had a very big of meat!
